In less than 24 hours I begin my 5th Tour de Ski here in the East German winter sports Mecca of Oberhof. I know I celebrated my 28th birthday lately, but still I find it hard to believe that when these 10 days of fury are over, I will have completed a half-decade of Tour de Ski racing (actually, to date I have completed only 2 (and only 1 completely healthy), as the first 2 I had to abandon because of illness…)

It’s been busy since my last update from the perpetual darkness of Finnish Lapland. On a personal hygiene front I shaved the stash’, cut my hair – which made me look (and feel) 10 + years younger. Travel-wise I’ve spent time in Italy, Switzerland and France. I turned 28, raced a bunch, maybe just maybe got better at guitar (this – is suspect) and even went alpine skiing. Yes, life’s been decent.
